One Man, One Machine, One Vision
VPMI started when ESJ was encouraged by a Japanese adviser of Panasonic Philippines to set up his own manufacturing company. ESJ started in a small lot in Pasig City with one press machine and one product – a small cardboard insulator for dry battery cells. From this one machine and armed only with a vision and strong will and determination, ESJ managed to steer VPMI to what it is today.
In 1980, VPMI signed a joint venture agreement with Sanoh Industrial Co., Ltd. of Japan for the production of brake and fuel tubes for automotive vehicles. The company established was Sanoh Fulton Philippines, Inc. This started an expertise of setting up new companies with new technologies and knowhow that is coupled successfully to the Filipino spirit. And with the addition of Optimum Securities, a brokerage company in the Philippine Stock Exchange, ESJ had laid the structure on which to build the VSO Group of Companies - named after his first three companies: Valerie, Sanoh and Optimum.
